There were people standing next to me, looking at the exact same animal that is captured in this shot, saying "Oh, look, meerkats. They're so cute. I love meerkats." No defense to anyone, but how can you not know what a meerkat looks like? Just because they are standing on their hind legs, doesn't make them meerkats.
It's a prairie dog.
